APPLICATION

The following are required:

ORMatch registration, which includes:
- A page of applicant contact, educational, and NBEO information
- Letter of Intent
- CV
- Unofficial transcript uploaded by the applicant
- 3 letters of reference submitted by individuals chosen by the applicant
  - (at least two should be clinical)
Be a citizen of the United States
- Have a US social security number
- Males must be registered with the Selective Service System as required by Federal law
Graduation from an ACOE accredited school / college of optometry
Passage of NBEO Part I and Part II (official scores will be sent to ORMatch from NBEO) prior to ORMatch rank deadline
Interview at Jesse Brown & Hines VA
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has mandated that anyone in contact with patients within the Veterans Health Administration, including health professions trainees (HPTs), prior to the employment start date.

The residency program runs from July 1 thru June 30 of the following year.

However, please note that new resident orientation begins one week prior to starting the residency July 1.
